My knees have been hurting this week, so I haven’t been doing much running. Monday was the only morning I ran.
However yesterday morning and this morning I flipped on Exercise TV OnDemand and did some yoga.
I’ve got to tell you I’m loving the yoga right now. It leaves me feeling lean and strong. It really does challenge not only your balance but your strength and stamina as well. Sometimes after a couple of flows just holding an extended downward-facing dog is a challenge! I love that yoga is a combination of strength training and stretching. And we all know I love a good stretch, so yoga is right up my alley!
I even have a little bit of soreness in some muscles today from my yoga workouts. Mostly in my side abdominals!
Our kitty, Benny, also seems to like yoga. 🙂
This morning he was all over my yoga mat, lying between my feet, chasing my shadow and laying next to my head, rubbing his face against mine and purring during deep relaxation. He’s so silly and affectionate!
Yoga is fast becoming my go-to workout. But don’t think I am leaving running behind! I’m definitely not!
Unfortunately I am missing running group tonight. Sad face. But it’s probably for the best with the way my knees have been feeling. Instead I am joining the husband, his co-workers and the judge that he is interning with for dinner and maybe some races at Hollywood Casino and Penn National Race Course. That should be fun! I’ve never seen a horse race before!
Now I just have to determine what to wear! I want to make a good first impression!
